GOODBYE & HELLO!

Well hello my dear friends – it has been far, FAR too long! I took a much longer “break” than anticipated in my attempt to get into the swing of this whole motherhood thing. Some people fall right into a routine and get that system down from the start, and some people…don’t. I fell into the latter category and 15 months later, sometimes still find myself struggling with the daily routine. I’m not the only one out there feeling this way, right? RIGHT?!

Anyhow, while I’ve been quiet on this site, I’ve been not so quiet behind the scenes, trying to get myself back into working order. In this oh-so brief time I’ve been away (ehem…), I’ve managed to nail down a studio space and created a new siteย (someone managed to pull The Modage Cottage domain name out from under my feet, so I am officially at http://www.modagecottage.com – feel free to bookmark the new page!). I’m still in the fledgling stages with both the studio and the new website, but with a little encouragement and a lot of work, I hope to hit the ground running very soon!

YES! (pulled from one of my favorite sources of inspiration: Knack)

Please feel free to subscribe/like/bookmark, etc. the new site and any feedback, suggestion, and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU (really, I can’t thank you enough) to all those that have stuck with me through thick and thin…and long radio silences. You are the reason I keep plugging away at this.

I will have this site up for a fewย more weeks, and then I will be transferring it over to the new site. Cheers to new beginnings (no matter how slowly…) and I hope you will join me on this new and exciting journey.

xoxo.

    • Maggie, thank you so, SO much! I had my heart in my stomach when creating the new site, but I think it’s the right choice. By the way, I love the knobs that you added to your new jewelry chest. I can’t believe you found that adorable thing on the side of the road! Great work ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Thank you! I felt funny grabbing it from the dumpster area, but hey! ๐Ÿ™‚
No, your site is great! I keep putting off taking the leap to a real site (vs. free wordpress one). If you have a designer or host you are really happy with, let me know.
        Thanks!
Jill (my blog is named after my daughter :)..confusing, I know

      • So sorry – JILL! I actually use HostGator as a host and they’ve worked well. Having a “real” site is super intimidating, but believe it or not, it’s not quite as difficult as it seems! I actually found a pre-made site via Etsy for $50 or so and then tweaked it to my liking. There are SO many choices out there on Etsy for pre-made and designer options that makes having a WordPress.org site much more accesible. There is still a bit of a learning curve as far as managing a hosted website – I do the bare minimum to get by – but it’s kind of fun figuring all of it out on my own!

      • Wow, i hadn’t thought of Etsy for a site. I knew they did logos. thank you! I know what you mean…it’s very empowering to figure this stuff out. I was excited when I learned how to add social media buttons to my site. ha ha Thanks again for the info. Take care!

    • I have no doubt that it will take me a full 18 years! ๐Ÿ™‚ I love your “About” page by the way – and your trip to Africa looked amazing (despite the coup…). I look forward to reading more about your travels in 2015!
